ABOUT US
As parents, do you feel overwhelmed as you do not have the knowledge you need to help your child with their school work?
We are Gemma and Julia, Educational Consultants for families, specialising in primary education. Being both teachers and parents of young children, we understand the frustrations that come with entering the world of education.
Many parents turn to private tuition at a costly price when in fact, research shows that parental engagement improves children’s progress. With that in mind, we believe that the key to a child’s success, with their learning, begins at home. With a curriculum that is ever evolving, parents often feel confused and unsure of how to help, often saying phrases such as, “That’s not how I learnt that in school.”
The Parent Learning Platform empowers parents by providing them with the knowledge, skills and resources that they need to support their child’s learning journey.
WHO WE ARE
Gemma and Julia met many years ago as young teachers whilst working together in a local primary school. Without knowing it at the time, the Parent Learning Platform had already been created over daily coffee and staffroom chat. Fast forward ten years, Gemma and Julia now have four young children between them, who are all early on in their school journeys.
Julia has held several leadership roles including Assistant and Deputy headteacher, heavily involved in the leadership of the school and the development of curriculum and assessment. Julia has also supported other teaching professionals across other schools.
Gemma is an experienced educator who has been involved in both developing curriculum content and teacher training, supporting other professionals within the school environment.
Gemma and Julia both have extensive knowledge of the primary curriculum, from reception to year 6 and have both supported many families with their transitions to secondary school.
